All About Dave!
Okay, the basics. I like my family, I had a normal childhood in a mid-sized Midwestern town. I went to college at Indiana University, and now, against my better judgement, I'm a law student in Chicago. Oh, I also have a full-time job. I never sleep.
I've had many careers in my relatively short life; I've owned my own software development company, worked for several software startups, including one that was purchased by the evil empire, Micro$oft. I've also been a professional writer and a film producer. I don't know how anyone can only be one thing in their lifetimes. There's just too many interesting things one can do to make a living!
Generally, I'm a technology professional, and as such, I think human interaction is invaluable. Which is why I spend as much time with my friends as possible. If you feel like seeing me in various informal settings, frolicking with my friends, too bad. You have to be there.
I also love music. Particularly: The Beautiful South, Voice of the Beehive, Elvis Costello, The Talking heads, Peter Gabriel, Nick Cave, Closed on Sunday, Arson Garden, X, Interpol, Modest Mouse, The Killers, Aimee Mann and others too numerous to mention here. If you are a music fan and you haven't yet seen PollStar and AllMusic then you are missing out.
I also enjoy... motorcycles! I was the proud owner of a Yamaha Virago. I loved my motorcycle. *sniff* Pride in your ride! I will someday own a Harley-Davidson Dyna Low Rider.
Finally, I can't get enough film, I have a deep love of the cinema, especially cinematography. I make films in my copious amounts of spare time, you know, when I'm not writing books or studying law. Did I mention I never sleep? There are far too many aspects of film to discuss here, so if you feel like discussing any film related topic, please drop me a note!
Of course, there are many other subjects of interest to me, however a web site is just too limited to get into them all. If you have some reason to think I'd like to hear from you, go ahead and send me a note. However, please do try to be clever...
